During my teen years, the Lord called me into camp ministry. For 3 summers, I served at a Christian camp in North Carolina. The Lord eventually moved me into a full time, leadership role as the Maintenance Director. Little did I know that the Lord would bring me a wonderful God-loving wife to serve beside me in this ministry. After 13 years, the Lord moved my family and I to a very small town in Georgia where I served as the Director of another Christian camp for the next six years. Here, the Lord set my heart on starting Compassion Outreach. In 2012, my family and I stepped out in complete faith to start this ministry.
Through years in camp work and leading my own family, I have come to realize the importance of family. In 2014, I began praying about a place for families to focus on Christ and each other without the distractions of life. God answered that prayer! Literally overnight, God moved financial mountains and provided money to purchase and completely pay for 80+ acres of land now called Deer Creek Retreat. We are compelled by Deuteronomy 6 to train and equip parents to minister to their children. Our goal is to come alongside of the Church and parents as a ministry for families.
